Chinese League One week 6 preview
Together with our Chinese League One insider Shay Giles we preview the very exciting second league of China. We will limit ourselves to the top ranked teams or matches that stand out such as big derbies. This week we arrive at the 6th round of fixtures.
Early leaders and much fancied Shenzhen are travelling away to face Zhejiang Yiteng at the Textile City Sports Center in Shaoxin. Yiteng finished a poor 13th place last season just about avoiding relegation, this season they find themselves in a much healthier position in 5th place; after five games, with three wins and two losses. With this in mind Shenzhen should be considered favourites for this game with the firepower of Harold Preciado, Aboubakar Oumarou and Obasi. A 3-0 away win does not look out of the question.
The second placed team Dalian Yifang are looking for a return to the top flight since the 2014 season. Yifang are at home against another promotion hopeful in Wuhan Zall who contain former Changchun Yatai striker Marcelo Moreno who has already scored two goals this season. However Wuhan sacked their manager Ciro Ferrarar after only two games. With a change of manager there could be the chance of a bit of inconsistency in getting used to new tactics and styles of play. Yifang’s strikers Mushekwi and Boli should therefore be able to fire Yifang past the inconsistent Wuhan Zall.
Beijing Renhe are only one point behind Dalian Yifang and are one of three teams who are unbeaten this season alongside leaders Shenzhen and 5th place Shanghai Shenxin. Beijing Renhe travel away to face rivals Beijing Enterpises who are winless after five games. In the last two games in the league both teams have beaten each other at home, however Beijing Renhe’s new signing Jaime Ayovi could be the catalyst to lead them to victory after scoring 4 goals in five games for the Beijing side.
